My absolute favourite line from a poem would be:
"Two Roads Diverged in a yellow wood." By Robert Frost - we did it last year in school, and I absolutely love it.
From a novel.... my favourite line is "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again." from Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

Sometimes this one gets stuck in my head, it's pretty funny.

It's by frank Zappa on his album joe's garage (which is awesome)

Frank Zappa-a token of my extreme

'A Latent Appliance Fetishist
Is a person who refuses to admit to his or herself
That sexual gratification can only be achieved
Through the use of MACHINES . . .'

Choosing only one favourite song line is impossible, but tonight, the line that comes to mind is from a Neil Young song;

"And there ain't nothin' like a friend, who can tell you your just pissin' in the wind"

My favorite poem is "Lenore" by Edgar Allan Poe. But my favorite lyric is from the song "November Rain" by Guns and Roses: "I know it's hard to keep an open heart, When even friends seem out to harm you, But if you could heal the broken heart, Wouldn't time be out to charm you?

And now it's fifty-five years later,
We've had the romance of the century.
After all these years wrestlin' gators,
I still feel like cryin' when I think of what you said to me...
--Kelly Hogan

Jimmy can dig,
He's a good little pig!
Jimmy can wear a guitar!
He's gonna go far! He's gonna go far!
Jimmy can wear a guitar!
--Eric Shinker and the New Recruits (feat. Eric Shinker)

Hey, I'm okay,
'Cause my name is on the zodiac.
Do ya wanna ride?
Do ya wanna live?
C'mon can I take you home?
'Cause I'm okay....yeah, I'm okay.

Heard this line of a song on the radio this morning .... Richard Thompson's 'Beeswing'

'As long as there's no price on Love, I'll stay. And you wouldn't want me any other way'
Save the Earth ..... It's the only planet with chocolate!

Heres one I always liked.

With trembling hands
I took the letter from him
I broke the seal
And this is what it said
Come home my boy
Your dear old father wants you
Come home my boy
Your dear old mothers dead.

Letter Edged In Black- Vernon Dalhart

Long live the walls we crashed through
How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
I was screaming long live all the magic we made
And bring on all the pretenders
I'm not afraid

Long live all the mountains we moved
I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you
I was screaming long live the look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day we will be remembered

"Long Live" by Taylor Swift

And as a country music junkie, maybe one more:

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

"If I Die Young" by The Band Perry
I am a poet and writer for hire from Pittsburgh, PA. "Shadows and Shade" by Jason Greiner "Wishing Wells" by Jason Greiner

Tonight, they're:

Little Jimmy, on his way to school..
And he thinks that..that everyone is cool.
And momma packs a lunchbox that's gray.
'Cause he'll be old, too, someday.
Yeah, he'll be old someday.

--Mr. Pants "Weird Chord"

Gimme Mick,
Gimme Mick.
Baby's hair, bulgin' eyes, lips so thick.
Are you woman, are you man?
I'm your biggest funked-up fan.
So rock me and roll me 'till I'm sick!

--Candy Slice "Gimme Mick"

Cecil gives me coffee
And he won't never take my coin
I say, " I got thirty dollars in my pocket! Whatchoo doin' ? "

I holler, " Come on, Cecil, take a dollar!
Come on, Cecil, take a ten!
I've finally geared up into a whole buncha big ones
And you're actin' like I'm down-shiftin' "

Rickie Lee Jones "Danny's All-Star Joint"

I was drunk when I met you,
I was drunk when you walked out the door.
And I rode around all night just to find you,
Guess you never knew.

--Mojave 3 "Yer Feet"

And anything that Willie Dixon ever wrote.
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

I found my love in a grocery shop
Selling pickles and eggplant and bottles of pop
She asked me to try her asparagus tips
And I fell for the smile on her ruby red lips.

Green Stamps were all she gave
Green Stamps were all I took
Green Stamps were all I saved
And I pasted them all in my Green Stamp book.

I love the Kingston Trio's version of Tom Dooley....peppy death march.

Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today...
So stay with me and I'll have it made.
And I don't understand why I sleep all day,
And I start to complain that there's no rain.
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake,
It rips my life away, but it's a great escape....
--Blind Melon/Shannon Hoon

Reduce myself, I got the strict restrictions
Not sexy enough without the regulations.
A melting point countdown the fading features;
Born to blossom and born to perish.
...And I've fallen, I can't help myself.
I'm feeling envious of all the rest.
You're bringing out the lemming in me.
A victim of the cattle call disease.
Not easy to be me.

I havent thought of Tom Dooley in years. I used to have a bunch of the Trio's albums but got rid of them years ago. Ive got the original lyrics to Tom Dooley, he was called Tom Dula and he was a real person who murdered his woman way back when. The song has about 9 or 10 verses to it.
