Somebody wants you
Somebody needs you
Somebody dreams about you every single night
Somebody can't breathe without you, it's lonely
Somebody hopes that one day you will see
That somebody's me :(

My favorite lyric is
Smile an ever lasting smile
A smile can bring you near to me
Don't ever let me find you gone
'Cause that would bring a tear to me

Heres one I always liked.

Up with the rooster each morning
Sweeping away the dew
Hustlin and bustlin for my baby
Makin her dreams come true.

Lots of things make me unhappy
What do I care if they do
Hustlin and bustlin for my baby
Makin her dreams come true.

She'd like to have a cottage
By a brook beside a hill
Im so much in love with her
I know someday she will

Up with the rooster each morning
Sweeping away the dew
Hustlin and bustlin for my baby
Makin her dreams come true.

Hustlin and bustlin - Louis Armstrong.

This was one of my wife's favorite songs, it was played at her funeral.

"If ever you marry a fine young man, don't give it away in a joke
That ever you slept in a sentry box wrapped up in a soldier's cloak"
We fade away, but vivid in our eyes
A world is born again that never dies.

I found this one, I thought it was kind of interesting. The second part cancels out the first part.

Youve got to be taught to hate and fear
Youve got to be taught from year to year
Its got to be drummed into your dear little ear
Youve got to be carefully taught!

Youve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
Youve got to be carefully taught.

Youve got to be taught before its too late
Before you are six or seven or eight
To hate all the people all the people your relatives hate
Youve got to be carefully taught!

Love is quite different.
It grows by itself.

It will grow like a weed
Or a mountain of stones
You dont have to feed
Or put fat on its bones
It can live on a smile
Or a note of a song
It may starve for a while
But it stumbles along
Stumbles along with its banner unfurled
The joy and beauty, the hope of the world.

-Oscar Hammerstein II

A warning from Hawkwind (PSYCHEDELIC WARLORDS) about the misuse of the weed!

Open your eyes, you'll get a surprise, evil is sweeping
the nation,
It's killing your sons and what merely stuns is
Your daughters are out for sensation
When they turn on their morals are gone
They don't really know what they're doing
It's a teenage malaise, a dangerous craze
Leading their bodies to ruin
Reefer madness has stolen all their souls
Reefer madness is right out of control
Evil reefer madness is a mind eating troll

Marijuana monster is stalking the streets
He knows what he's up to, he knows what he eats
He gobbles your body and spits out your mind
If you don't believe it then you must be blind
Reefer madness has stolen all their souls
Reefer madness is right out of control
Evil reefer madness is a mind eating troll

Marijuana's real enough
Marijuana's real enough
Marijuana's real enough

One night I was smoking dope, when I looked at
my hand, and I saw that I had eleven fingers,
one of these fingers fell from my hand,
onto the carpet, crawled across the floor,
Up on my shelf, inside my piggy bank and stole
my stash, stole my stash.
Reefer madness has stolen their souls
Reefer madness is right out of control
Evil reefer madness is a mind eating troll.

Lol ;-)

There have been a lot of songs over the years about the weed. Cab Calloway did one called Reefer Man back in the 30's and Louis Armstrong did an instrumental called Muggles in 1930. Muggles was a slang term that black guys used for weed back then.

Paul Simon's "Father & Daughter" ... absolutely love that song for obvious reasons but it makes me cry everytime.

I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you
We fade away, but vivid in our eyes
A world is born again that never dies.

From The Headless Cat by Elliott O Donnell.

whaaat ??? u can really isolate a favourite :) well I envy you for having that kind of thinking . . for me there are too many but some of U2's lyrics are really poetic and would rank pretty high. . . anyone remember the song "one" ?? thats sooo beautiful.

msstroda wrote:'Judge not, that you be not judged,' Is a line from one of my own poems. It says it all, I think. I have listed the poem here.

Judge Not

'Judge not, that you be not judged,'
That is stated well,
It leaves those with poor
judgment, to their own judgment,
Making their life hell.
Getting both sides of the story,
Will show you what I mean,
If you would ask more questions,
The truth would soon be seen.
So if you want a hell on earth,
judge others you don't know,
By judging others, you will find,
The devil owns your soul.
