Theres a tune to it, I made up a bunch of songs years ago when me and a couple other guys had a band.

I havent read that book. Is it the same thing? She had to pay her dad back? I got the idea for that from some comic I saw on TV. Dont remember who it was, but it was a cute idea.

Theres a few writers from Utah, too. Its not all honey and sugar beets. Orson Scott Card was born in Richland, Washington but lived in Orem for a time and went to BYU. The sci-fi author Raymond F. Jones was from Sandy, or at least he lived there not far from where we lived when he died.

Another one who lived in Silver City for a time was the actress Fay Wray. She was the one who did all the screaming in the original King Kong movie.

Gene Fulmer was from West Jordan, he was middleweight boxing champ at one time. He had a resturant in Midvale, we used to see him there occasionally. One time we saw him there busing tables with Mike Mazurki who was an actor and wrestler. He was in a lot of movies in the 40's and 50's.

Fay Wray!

How do you start a new thread?
We should do famous musicians from the same place you are from.
We have Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichel, John Mellencamp and Adam Lambert!

of course Utah has BigHuey.
It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. J.R.R. Tolkien

Thats an idea. Just go to the off-topic page and at the top you will see start a new thread, clik it and go from there.

I cant think of many musicians from Utah, except Ned Miller who made From a Jack to a King back in the 60's. We once rented a house from his parents. Theres quite a few actors from the Happy Valley.

I just saw something else from Utah, but it has a dark side. Its called The Utah Data Center. Its in Bluffdale, and its a government installation that is set up to collect and store the e-mails of every American citizen. Quote - "Never in the history of the NSA have they resisted the opportunity to listen to us. There going to do it again, but this time with more efficiency than we can possibly imagine." Big Brother is watching.

"Cowards die many times before their deaths, the valiant never taste of death but once." Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

It has inspired me to be brave and try even if I might fail because I will not die many times as a coward only once as a brave soul!

My sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk,

" Imagine " John Lennon...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
" We don't see things as they are but as we are "

Carpe Diem!

As I was passing an orphans home one day
I stopped for a little while to watch the children play
Alone a boy was standing
And when I asked him why
He turned with eyes that could not see
And begin to cry.

Im nobodys child, Im nobodys child
Im like a flower just growing wild
No mamas kisses, no daddys smile
Nobody wants me, Im nobodys child.

No mamas arms to hold me
Or to soothe me when I cry
Sometimes I get so lonely
I wish that I could die
Then Id walk the streets of Heaven
Where all the blind can see
And just like the other kids
There'll be a home for me.

Nobodys Child - Hank Snow. The Beatles did a version of this one on one of their early recordings, it was good too.

"Oh she was a rare thing, fine as a bee's wing
So fine a breath of wind might blow her away
She was a lost child, oh she was running wild
She said, "As long as there's no price on love, I'll stay
And you wouldn't want me any other way"

"Oh she was a rare thing, fine as a bee's wing
And I miss her more than ever words could say
If I could just taste all of her wildness now
If I could hold her in my arms today
Well I wouldn't want her any other way"
