I can't get Olly Murs Dear Darling out of my head. It reminds me so much of a very heart wrenching book I just read. :(

That does go back a day or two.

I heard a nice little song today, Where the Wild, Wild, Flowers Grow by the Roger Wolfe Kahn Orchestra. Its an old Appalachian folk song that was done in a big band style. Sounded really good.

Thats a classic for sure. One of Frankies best.

I just heard Gallows Hill by Billy Lee Riley. Most of his stuff isnt that great, he was one of the many terrible Elvis imitators from that era, but Gallows Hill was an exception, it was more his style. A slow, mournful song about a guy who is going to the gallows. Similar to Charley Pride's Green Grass of Home.

I do too mostly, but I like a few of those type songs, especially the old country songs like Jimmie Rogers, Hank Williams, Hank Snow Tex Ritter and others from that era used to do. One of my favorites is The Dying Cowboy by Vernon Dalhart, he sings the original lyrics and melody and is a very moving song.

One I heard today was a cute song, Pink Elephants. I think it was by George Olson Orch. but not sure. About a guy who has a little too much to drink the night before. Pink elephants in the window, pink elephants on the wall, pink elephants in the bedroom, pink elephants in the hall and so on. Its still going through my head.
