Modern Day Music

I'm just wondering, if any of you like "Modern Day Music" because to be honest with you guys, I've never even heard half of the songs you guys mention xD. So, do you like Modern Day Music? Modern Day Music I think is mostly pop, club music(Don't even know what it is). Today's artists like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber(Don't really like him xD), Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Iyaz, Charice,(I think) Ross Lynch, etc. It's mostly teens or young adults that are "in" these days(I'm not really fond of Lady Gaga,Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Iyaz.) So do you like Today's Singers?

Nail on the head TKA, I think the trouble with music today is that most are just singers ( most Karaoke standard ) and not actual musicians, the majority of them wouldn't know a musical instrument if it hit them on the head. :?

Kinda true. Things are mostly auto tuned these days (xD) But I know there are some that can really play or sing :D.

Of course there is some talent around today, but I think a musician and a singer are two different things and there seems to be alot more "singers" about than musicians. That said, there are a number of bands that still would come under the modern tag that are very good.....Kings of Leon, Razorlight and Snow Patrol.....far better than some average karaoke singer Imo :D

Please don't forget Them Crooked Vultures! Old guys, new band...do they count?
Fountains of Wayne has some decent stuff out, too.
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

I very rarely listen to modern day music. It has too many references to drugs, alcohol, and "livin' it large". I personally like Asian Folk music, you know that music without singers, just instruments.

I certainly don't mind "livin' it large" if that means having a good time in modern speak, even if it does sometimes include a fair amount of alcoholic lubrification, however I do agree with you on the references to drugs and other stuff like guns and violence.

i'm more of an 60's - 90's type of person, there are very few singers i like these days, but i usually listen to the classics, American Idol's become a joke, it's become more of people just coming to see J-lo or steven tyler..... X-Factor was good, till simon fired half the judges, who knows what it's going to be next.... todays music don't have the same feel to it as it used too, and i'm afraid it's not going to get better .......... stick with the classics of the 60's - 90's ....
