It's important for my job and netflix cause where I live cable is like $150 a month and there's no way I'm paying that compared to $9 for netflix, but other than those two things I hardly ever use it

I could probably live without in, but my family would hate me for it. We live 8000 miles away from each other, and we rely on it to communicate with each other. International telephone conversations are just too expensive.

Same here. I could live without it but for communication with friends and family.

The internet is important to me. I communicate with friends and family, it entertains me. I post on several message boards, plus I have a blog that I post on once in a while. lol

I dropped the ball on paying my Internet bill once. They shut it off. (OK, maybe I dropped the ball more than once.) So then I paid the bill and called them up so they could turn it back on. The guy at AT+T said, "Your Internet should be restored within the next 48 hours."
And I was like, "Can't you just turn it back on for me right now, remotely?"
And he swore that he couldn't do that, that he didn't have that capability. I didn't believe him, of course.
So then I got all teary, and said, "What am I supposed to do without my Internet?"
And he said, "What do you mean, ma'am?"
"I've never been without my Internet. I don't know what to do without it. Oh please, you have to reconnect my Internet. I'm bereft. I can't function." Sob.
"Um, I'm sorry, ma'am, but I don't have an answer to that question in my catalogue of answers. Um... When I lose Internet, I spend more time with my family."
I cried harder.
My Internet was back on within five minutes.
Take from that story what you will.

The internet is one of the most important tools I use everyday. I have to admit the I spend about 20 hours on the internet. I can be doing a search for something silly to diagnosing myself with some deadly disease that doesn't exist anymore. (yes I did that twice, I really thought I was dieing) I play online games at times and sometimes just search for a receipt for dinner. I'm always rushing dinner. Without the internet I would be lost, but then again I did live without it once a long long time a go in a galaxy far way from here I think.

HA HA. I've diagnosed myself too, with multiple ailments! It's amazing that I'm still breathing!!

I too would be lost without Internet, and I too vaguely recall a faraway world where there was no Internet!!!

The internet is pretty important to me. Sure, I could live without it but I certainly would not have nearly as much fun as I do! Also, my husband has a lot of family still living in England and we Skype and Facebook with them weekly (especially our adorable granddaughter). It would be very difficult to not be able to see her chubby face on a daily basis.
