Not that I remember. I raked a lot of our own leaves.

When you were thirteen did you have a gas lawnmower or a push one?

Gas one, and I got to use that one a lot myself!

When you were thirteen, what was your prized possession?

A pocket, transistor radio.

This is probably hard for younger generations to wrap their minds around but before transistor radios the thought of being able to listen to music, news or a sports broadcast without plugging a wire into a wall was too fantastic to comprehend. Back then the very thought of being able to actually see someone while on the phone was practically science fiction. I am amazed by how far technology has altered the way we live in the last 50 years!

QUESTION: When you were thirteen what was your favorite sandwich?

I think baloney sandwich. Back then they made good baloney not the crap they make now, that made a very tasty sandwich with lots of mayo.

When you were thirteen did you have a dog?

I remember the transistor radios with the little earphone, they were really something back then.

Nope, no pets :( I really want a kitten though.

When you were thirteen, which drink was your favourite?
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I'm pretty sure I was between pets at that age.

When you were thirteen, did you play any sports?

I grew up in the city and we didn't have any place to go swimming. I never saw any water places other than backyard swimming pools to cool off in. Everything was concrete and bricks. The first time I saw grass I was afraid of it. *LOL*

Did you have a secret crush on a member of the opposite sex at thirteen?

I dont really remember. There were some cute girls in our school but I dont think I really had a crush on any of them. I did have sort of a girl friend, she was the big game hunter Jack OConner's daughter who lived near us. But I think I considered her more as one of the guys. I remember I had a crush on Judy Garland when I was about that age after seeing her in Wizard Of Oz.

Did you ever hunt for returnable beverage bottles when you were thirteen?

No, we used to collect old newspapers on our home made go-carts and take them for pulp, we used to get good money for that.
The irony is that if you don't recycle correctly now you could end up being charged extra if you wanted something picking up.

Did you have any money making schemes when you were thirteen?

Lemonade stand. And I sold gum in school at $.10 a piece. $.15 for a piece of Big Red! ;)

When you were thirteen, did you ever camp out in your backyard?

I may have, I dont remember for sure. I remember me and a couple other kids sleeping all night in a cemetary on a dare when I was about that age.

When you were thirteen did you have a favorite celebrity hero?
