IMO the unhealthy obsession some people have with other peoples sex lives says a lot more about them that about the individuals they are so obsessed with.
Well said!

I worked for the same company for 24 years before I retired. Besides my wife, my best
friend was a gay man, who hired on the same day I did. He'd laugh if he heard me describe him as "a gay man." I never used the term behind his back or when he was
in my presence. When he got married to David, we went to the wedding. There were
as many straights at the wedding as perverts(I'm allowing myself one, I've been good
for at least 24 years). It took a huge effort for me to respond to this thread, because
the topic is such a bore. So why did I cave? I haven't said pervert in a long time. Feels really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There, I'm over it.

Ive known gay people, most are just ordanary people, in fact from outward appearances you wouldnt know they were gay at all. They are not the lavender lad limp-wrist fairy images that they were pictured as years ago. They have the same likes and dislikes same as everyone else. I dont go for that lifestyle, but so what? A lot of people probably dont agree with the way I live. If they want to live that way they should be allowed to without getting a bunch of flak over it. They are human beings, they just express themselves different sexually. The powers that be should worry about more important things like the economy, the screwed-up world situation, stuff like that rather than if Joe marries Bill. Let them alone.

One's sexual predilection, shouldn't even be an issue...

I think it's the FLAUNTING that turns people off...some of it is " over the top ", and only offensive in the bad taste it exemplifies rather than the actual issue of homosexuality...

I kinda agree with you although I wouldn't necessarly use the word "flaunting" .... I'd go with "overt" maybe.
But it's not that long ago that displays of affection (known as carrying on!) by heterosexual couples was frowned upon & very much discouraged in public. I know of pubs where hetero couples were told in no uncertain terms that "there will be none of that kind of thing" here & if they didn't desist were even told to leave (not The Smugglers where the landlord is VERY broadminded)!
Personally I think jealousy has a lot to do with it or the cesspit that is the puritanical mind.
