Ode to Tommy Tucker
by Sean Bracken

Tommy Tucker traipsing
Through thoroughfares thronging
Thrusting thriving thieving

Listless loiterers lingering
Leering, longing, lusting
Letching lurking langered

Sirens soliciting seduction
Storyville suggestive
Salacious sensual sensational

Promising promiscuous persuasion
Personal procurement providing
Pleasure pain perversion

Tommy Tucker trembling
Thinking terror tumbling
Troubling thought tormenting

Fearing finding failure
Fearing faking feelings
Fulfilling final fantasy

Hi Sean,

Nice meter to your poem ... I can actually feel Tommy trembling *LOL*

Storyville was a legalised red-light district in New Orleans. :-)

I sort of inferred that this was about visiting a brothel but I didn't know it involved a real red light district. Thanks for the info.

This sounds almost like a song. Really interesting and I like that it was about an actual red-light district.

Thank's once again, Lincoln. I enjoy writing both prose and poetry, just for fun. It's always rewarding to know when someone else enjoys the fruits of my labours.
