I found this very interesting, for multiple reasons.

It's the story of a french diplomat who, while on assignment in 1960's China, falls for a chinese opera singer.
Twenty years later, he finds out that she is actually a he, and he has been a spy the entire time.

It's actually inspired by a real case, though very loosely.

Four! I really enjoyed it.
And the copy I read had an afterward by the playwright that was as interesting as the play itself
