I am waiting to read this book! I hope that I can get it soon, because it looks super good. When I first looked at the book, I didn’t think it would be interesting because of the cover. So yes, I was kind of a cover snob, with this one. Once I read the review, however, I am really interested in reading it, and I hope it is just as good as everyone says it is!

I think the author was making an interesting point about Piper's physical transformation.
From Chapter 17
"It was odd that everyone thought I looked 'better'. It didn't make sense. Their beautiful auras with endless complexity of color were way more attractive than anything physical"

At least, I'm interested! I'd like to check out Street's book. Thanks for writing this review! :)

Interesting review! I'm not one to read a lot of fantasy, but this does sound like a great read for those who are into this genre. Great job on the review, S dot Lennon!

A coming of age fantasy revolving around a girl with unique powers sounds intriguing. Sounds like a great tale with an unique heroine and a cool world building. I like the fact that Piper isn't the typical heroine (aka the most beautiful or most popular girl). And to think she discovers her powers after a near-death experience! A great job on the review!

Nice, thorough review. I am not a big fan of the fantasy genre, but the story sounds interesting with a likable character. I like your comment about Piper trying to keep a semblance of her life before she was awakened. That seems like something anyone would be able to relate to who has had changes in their life.
