I found this scene hilarious!!! My kids feel like Kate about my hubby and me.addie1 wrote:I read this book ages ago and really enjoyed it so have been following this conversation. I'd love to hear what other readers thought about my favourite chapter in the book when Sue accidently sends a racy email to her daughter Kate instead of to her lover. Kate is quite horrified and says the images will never be erased from her mind! This seemed so real to me. My daughter seems to find it hard to believe that we are all sexual beings whatever our age. What is your favourite part of the book? Do you think Sue did the right thing going to NZ or should she have stayed to support Kate? Really interested in your thoughts.
I think Sue did the right thing and thought Kate was wrong asking her to stay. I like it that Sue was more liberal than her daughter. Quite a reversal of roles.
