Sounds like a very interesting book. However, I would have to agree with you that the simplicity of the writing style may bore young adults. Moreover, the book seems to need another round of editing. Great job on the review.

Thanks for this great review! Although the story might appeal to my young son I'm not going to recommend it because of the errors.

Thank you for the insightful review! I like that the characters found an abandoned house in the woods; it gives me the chills just to think about. Too bad about the errors, vernacular, and the uncertainty of the age level. All three would dissuade me from reading the book. However, I'm glad that you were still able to enjoy the read!

Thank you for this review! I really enjoyed reading it. I love mystery books so I will probably be giving this book a try. I wish they didn't put swearing in it though. In my opinion it doesn't make the book any better.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Especially when you are dealing with younger readers, you have to be careful with the mistakes. You don't want them learning bad habits. It was interesting, though!

Great review as usual. I have actually never read a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys book. There were tons of them in my local library but back when I use to frequent the novel I was a Daniel Steele fan - erotica novels and whatsnot (my young and foolish days I call them).

Well, it's never too late to start one. :) I liked Encyclopedia Brown myself, but that's just me.
