Shade by Marilyn Peake

Post by heinemac »

This young adult fantasy story is set around a teenager named Shade who learns that she is half human, half fairy. Her life is turned upside down when she accidentally runs into a fight between two fairies. She's taken to the fairy world to learn from the queen that she is the halfling that will save the fairy world. Reluctantly Shade starts on this quest with a group of fairies to protect her from danger. Shade learns a lot about herself on this journey and a lot about the people around her.

I gave it a 3 out of 4 stars because while the story and the characters were interesting it was hard to get into the first two chapters. Once I pushed past those chapters I couldn't put the book down. By the end of the book I was ready to start on book two, I want to learn what happens to Shade and Her new found friends. :techie-studyinggray:
