Me too! Most of my friends can knit, and I'm always amazed by the cool things they create.

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was younger. It was really a cool experience to learn directly from her how to create something so intricate from simple yarn. She was quite the teacher!

Do you still crochet?

I've gotten into using an afghan hook lately...

My grandmother tried to teach me but I got impatient... wait... did I say this here already?
I told my sister she needed to learn to crochet so she could make me scarves.

Three thoughts:

1/ Most people have at least some talent or propensity for many things, not just one. I expect that more people than not are "creative" if in creativity you include such diverse things as language arts, visual arts, music, dance, handicrafts, cooking, and working with animals.

2/ I believe that any type of person can be a good writer, whether they are very organized, analytical, and facts-oriented, or very "creative," imaginative, intuitive, etc. They will produce different types of books, of course. Also, the organized, analytical writer is more likely to actually get his or her stuff written down.

3/ According to someone (I think it was Oscar Wilde), the middling poet is creative and his creativity spills out into everything he does. Whereas, the truly genius poet does not seem like a "creative" person in his private life, because all his genius is going into his art, and not leaking out in the rest of his life.

I haven't for quite some time now so I am probably a bit off on the fingerwork and my technique is likely quite atrocious. :? I wish it was like riding a bike!

I like baking and writing songs. That's pretty much it! I suck at sewing, drawing, painting, and generally creating! lol

I sing, I do both technical work and acting for theatre, and I write of course! Abstract art, coloring, and finger painting are all really fun too.

Okay, I'm seriously getting pumped to start on my "project" for needlepoint! Creativity better be flowing come new years. Or, you know, Saturday...

"Pumped" and "needlepoint" are words I've never used together in the same sentence.

Clearly. I thought hot tubs and cognac were cool. I've been misled. Needlepoint is the epitome of cool. I'll start needlepointing, and I'll be a chick magnet. And when they find out I'm a member of an online book club and write book reviews simply because I enjoy it, they'll hardly be able to keep their panties on. :) 8) 8) 8) 8)
