Escape (Tip of the Spear Book One) is a sexy romantic thriller by Belle Ami which brings out the dangers of a nuclearized Middle East.
Layla Rose Wallace and Cyrus Hassani are the main characters of the book. Layla Rose Wallace is a Harvard student. She decides to go to Dubai with her Saudi boyfriend on holiday to meet his parents. They are kidnapped in Dubai and taken to Tehran in Iran. Layla’s boyfriend is the son of a rich business man and his father saves him. Cyrus Hassani is a sexy and well experienced spy, whose work is everything for him. He has to complete two tasks. First, he has to seduce Layla to extract information from her to check her worth for the government of Iran. Second, he has to get Layla out of Iran or kill her if he fails to do so.
At the first site Cyrus feels some unexplainable attraction towards Layla which is not just physical. Layla also develops a liking for Cyrus eventually. Though Cyrus is a tough man, yet he fails to hide his emotions from Layla and tells her about himself and his missions. Layla trusts him and goes with him on a very difficult journey of escaping from Iran. Through that journey, the characters both Layla and Cyrus get evolved. Layla changes from a carefree and innocent girl to a brave and confident women, who can fight against all odds for her safety. On the other hand, Cyrus changes from a cold and tough warrior, to a caring and soft person who loves Layla. Their love also gets developed through the different incidents that happen on their way.
Reading this book was a good experience and would give it 3 out of 4 stars. The story line of this book is very solid and worth reading. I really appreciate the way in which the character of Cyrus is depicted in the book. He is portrayed as an ideal man who is not only a devoted man but a faithful lover. The sexual scenes are well scripted, steamy and are intended for the mature readers only. The climax of the book could have been more dramatic. The action scenes are not well narrated. They could have been more thrilling. I really loved the end of the book. At the end it is shown that true love always wins and a person should never lose hope.
I really admire the hard work and research that the writer has done for this book. The tension between Iran and Israel and the conditions of both the countries are well explained. Also, the condition of American prisoners in the Evin Prison are nicely illustrated. All the elements of the book are well organized. There are no spellings and grammatical errors in the book.
Moreover, the suspense of the story is well maintained throughout. Formatting and paragraphing of the book is also good. This book is ideal for a person who loves to read Romantic Thrills and can be read at the weekend or while travelling. I would like to read the next part of this book when it is available.
