Black Hills by Nora Roberts

Post by ThosHowellBookReview »

Currently reading Black Hills and find myself completely drawn in to her wonderful childhood characters Coop and Lil Chance. We watch their childhood friendship grow into something more intimate as a killer stalks the Black Hills and threatens first the wildlife and later their life. This is a good read that makes me look forward to the next chapter, no wonder Nora Roberts is such a popular writer.

I didn't know about this book. It has been added to my list now. I love all her books.

I don't know why but I didn't like this one as much as some of her other novels. I didn't connect with either of the major characters.

Black Hills is actually one of my favorites among Nora Robert's many novels. Mostly because I'm an animal lover and I love books that feature an animal as an important character. However, what really stood out to me with this book was the sacrifice that Cooper made, letting her go to make the life for herself that she couldn't have had if they had stayed together. The whole book seemed to be an exploration of the saying "If you truly love something, let it go. If it's meant to be it'll come back to you." Plenty of heartache, but still a whole lot of happy ending.

I have always loved that quote. Thanks for reminding me of it.
