It didn't suck, it was entertaining, it didn't get me aroused. It had kind of a sweet love story underneath.

That said, if you've read the Twilight books, you've read these, except they got rid of Jacob and added some sex instead.

Totally agree with you!!!

I was going through all the comments - thanks for the laughs!!

I did read the books out of curiosity and got into the story. It was cute. A fast easy read. Literally read them on my flights over the last couple of months. First time i didnt sleep on the plane! But I def think its just a personal reference. Yes theres sex. Yes it could be considered 'Mommy Porn' - i think its what i heard it called somewhere. But there was also a story there. Could have used some help in some areas but all in all I think its a good read. Nothing compared to some of the Zane stories!

I read part of the first one, and skimmed through the other two. I enjoy reading erotica once in awhile and in my opinion this didn't even qualify to be called that. I think if Christian had said, "Now let me just get these clothes off of you," one more time, I would have thrown the book against the wall. This author made sex- unsexy.

The reason I skimmed through the other two books is I had a feeling she would go with the belief that so many people who have never experienced BDSM in real life have: That people who enjoy BDSM were sexually abused in their youth. And yes, sure enough, she took that road.

But you know what? We ALL talked about these books and some crappy books had great sales and even got a movie of it made. Lol!

But I do agree with the others. There isn't much that can be done with erotica to improve it. I mean, are we really reading it for the good plot??? ;)

'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy is a great read! I have read all 3 books and I love them. It's about Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, Grey is a successful entrepreneur that is attractive, mysterious, and intelligent. Anastasia Steele is a Literature college student with a part-time job at a hardware store. The further into the book you get the more you see of Christian Grey. They meet because Kate (Anastasia's roommate) has an interview planned with Grey, and unfortunately, Kate gets sick and talks Anna into doing the interview for her. Grey has some inner demons that he has yet to defeat and his life changes when he meets Anna. It's not just about sex, it's full of suspense, drama, and it's entertaining. Some parts are funny, others are sad. I would recommend reading this series! I couldn't put it down!

If you don't like erotica books, you will not like 50 shades. Although it does have a nice story line. it is packed with sex almost every 3-4 pages.

Although I do agree that the story was slightly boring, it didn't stop my curiousity :) I still ended up reading all of the books in the series and read them QUICK! I couldn't pull myself away from it, I had to know how it ended. There are lots of interesting sex parts that made my eyebrows raise. Out of all of them the last book really was my least favorite. It got more and more boring as the books went on. With all this, yes I would recommend these books.

I enjoy erotica books, these just disappointed me. Any man who is really into this lifestyle would have given up on her a long time ago. She was quite the tease lol!

I just finished reading 50 shades of Greg. The first book is really laying the foundation of a domestic violence and BDSM type of relationship. Essentially this is a porno written for women with really unhealthy boundaries or no boundaries to begin with. If you're into the old fashioned women getting oppressed in a relationship type of person, then you'll love this book. However, if you're more of a feminist then you'll really be disgusted. Obviously I'm more for equal rights. Happy Reading!

yes it is about sex and a BDSM relationship! the first book had a good amount of romance that most of us girls love and a little bit of mystery it eventually got into the BDMS stuff, which if done correctly I do like to read! some of it is just to extreme, I didn't find a lot of that in this book for me personally they were both consenting adults and at the end of the day it is a story of fiction nothing you have to want in real life or approve of. The third book was so jam packed with sex that I didn't even finish it, it got to the point where that was the only story line! I do have a liking for books with the very detailed erotica but three full books with all the same stuff and characters eventually turned me off. Again the first book was good and didn't have an overload of sex so you can definitely test the waters with that one if you aren't into the erotic/BDSM romance novels, it is definitely mild compared to some of the books in that genre. If book one is too much for you then do not continue on to the next two.

The BDSM that Fifty Shades of Grey represented was very mild and frankly pretty minimal. I disliked the whole idea that Grey was a "abused " child and that was his reason for participating in BDSM. It is about control.. E.L. James did get that right. But in reality the power is in the hands of the submissive. If the sub uses a safe word, it stops. The one thing I liked and thought the author got correct was the interplay between them in the emails. By the third book I was rolling my eyes at the lack of honesty in the behavior of Anna, promising one thing in the morning, and by early evening deliberately breaking the promise. I started calling it "50 Shades of Bitch". I also didn't like the way the characters went headlong from one major event to another, again and again, and again. BUT, I did read the whole thing, and it did hold my attention even if it was because I was muttering aloud and taking notes.

So a couple of my friends convinced me to read this book because I am the one who reads the most. I was extremely reluctant to even start the series, opting to saving it until the end of the summer. I was more drawn to the actual love parts of the book than anything else.

I did read all 3 of these books, and I personally ended up flicking past the 'sexy time' scenes because they became really repetitive... In my humble opinion, I thought the writing style was pretty bad. If you take away the sex scenes, its pretty much just Twilight all over again!

When Fifty Shades of Grey came out with a huge buzz I was curious. I read the synopsis and was not interested. It sounded like a broken record player playing the same song over and over again. AWHILE later I found myself reading the first book out of curiosity (with a nudge from my friend). As expected I didn't enjoy the first book. I felt there wasn't any plot. Just sex, sex and more sex. Some erotic books I've read at least had a decent plot.

As promised to my friend I finished the trilogy. It wasn't till half way through the second book did I start enjoying myself. Ana starts getting a backbone. Christian starts opening himself. I can see his true character other than a sex machine.

It's an erotica but...it leans towards submission. There are some pretty good parts in there but the female character kind of curbs it because she couldn't handle it. There's a bit of your romance in there, a hot take-charge kind of guy, and some kink to keep things interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how the movie plays out. I hope they don't butcher the story
