Scott wrote:The software is supposed to prevent a book from being submitted with the same exact title/subtitle/author combination. Thus in theory one should be more correct than the other. So report which ever one you think is the less preferred spelling/combination and then enter the preferred one as the "good book". The alternative spelling will be saved so that if one enters it in the future it will automatically connected to the preferred version.

Update: I have adjusted the 'custom sort' page so that, when one clicks to sort by author name or book title, one is presented with a list of letters. The way it was before I felt was relatively useless unless the author or title happened to start with an A. When someone selects to sort by author or title, I also have tossed in the search box too because that seems like a situation in which one might find the search box more useful. Take a look and let me know what you think.
It looks great!

I am thinking that I should change Bookshelves so that any given member's 'trash bin' is hidden to all except that member. This is because I think people do not want to use it to mark books as 'not interested in reading' because they do not want to publicly insult the book or people who are interested in the book. In contrast, I meant the feature to simply allow members to mark a book as not interested in reading, mostly for the purpose of it being hidden when browsing other books (if the option to hide books in one's shelves is selected). The other purpose is that it is meant to be the function for removing books from shelves if one puts it there mistake or changes one's mind about wanting to read the book. But I have been getting requests to "delete a book entirely from my shelves not just move it to trash". Please let me know what you think.

Alternatively, I could at least remove any reference to it as being playfully titled the 'trash bin' and just call it the 'not interested shelf'. I find the latter boring but at least would lessen the feeling of publicly admonishing a book that one simply is not interested in reading.

Hi, I am new here. I tried to add a book to my shelf and it does not show up. Is that because I am new? Do I need a certain number of posts to be able to use this real cool feature?

Thanks!

I've found that once in a while I have to refresh the page for a book to show up.
That may be the issue :)

Hi I love this bookshelf idea but is there any way to delete a book that I have added because of wrong spelling and/or info. I tried reporting it but it still shows up in my bookshelf.

You need to report it and it will get deleted later on.

I just joined yesterday so I'm still trying to figure everything out, but this sounds pretty simple. Thank you!
