My favourite one is definitely Henryk Sienkiewich , and from all the books he wrote the one that left a huge impact on my sentimental life was "Without Dogma" . I was only 15 years old when I read it first time .

My favorite author is Eric Jerome Dickey. The way he brings his characters to life and describes every minute detail makes you feel as though you know the people he is writing about. His novels always take me on a journey. I really love his writing style.

This is impossible to answer. I have so many phases! But I think Virginia Woolf and Michael Cunningham are incredible. Sylvia Plath is mind blowing. I like the Bronte sisters for some reason, even though most people think they're just boring and old fashioned... Emily Dickinson was pretty amazing... erm can't think now, I'm just in a phase where I really love these writers!

i have been a long time fan of John Grisham's works and books. I am into the espionage novels like rainbow six and stuff like that, but Lawyer books really does turns me on, i am looking forward for other people out there who shared my views and likes. Hello

A new kid on the block - sure, but I have now recommended this guy to all my friends and family and they are raving about him. He seems to have an effortless writing style and coupled with his witty, thrilling and twist ridden stories I am sure this guy will be a very successful author in years to come. My favorite author would have to be Kim Harrison. I'd love to live in the Hollows.

Stephenie Meyer is amazing as well. I just picked up The Host yesterday and can't wait to start it. I have to finish the book I'm reading currently, though.

J.K. Rowling is simply a master of her craft.

Faith Hunter is one of the most original writers I've come across. I'm caught up in Host at the moment.

Tad Williams is a master of fantasy to rival Tolkien.

I read so many books of so many genres so it's really hard to pick. However, I will base my list, in no particular order, on those who's books I re-read at least once a year:

Terry Goodkind (By the way, did you know his Sword of Truth series is being made into a TV action series by the same people who put out Hercules and Xena? God I hope they don't wreck it!)
Robert Jordon - (Who, sadly, passed away last fall, but if anyone was waiting for the final book in his Eye of the World series, his family has commissioned another author, Brandon Sanderson, to write it using Jordon's extensive notes and outlines. It is expected out late this year or early next.)
David and Lee Eddings - (Little trivia here, despite her name not appearing on most of his work until recent years, his wife, Lee, did in fact co-author many of his books, including the Belgariad series and their character related one-off books, Polgara and Belgarath. Apparently it was an issue for his publishers until recently for her name to appear with his. What idiots!)
Dave Duncan
Jane Austen
The Bronte sisters (all three, but Charlotte is my fav)
Terry Brooks
Piers Anthony

My favorite authors all write on different topics, so one of them is sure to suit whatever mood I'm in.

Agatha Christie is my favorite mystery author, the best plots you could find anywhere, and so many of them.

P.G. Wodehouse is laugh-out-loud hilarious, and the situations his characters get in to are wonderfully ridiculous.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice gave me more pleasure than any one book, and in many ways shaped who I am. Mansfield Park is just as good, and all of her books ought to be read. They are all so funny in a clever and witty way. She had a satirical eye and ready tongue. Don't pass her by : )
