Michael Crichton. Read most of his books.
I like that they are all so different. But they are all pageturners!

My favourite authors are:

Ian McEwan - I just love how dark he can make his books and they are so beautifully written.
Kazuo Ishiguro - He makes a book that is fairly odd i.e. The Unconsoled very readable.
Ann Patchett - She just tells a great story
Kate Atkinson - Again, she tells a great story and love her humour.

Also really like Amy Tan, David Lodge, Iain Banks, Nick Hornby and Michael Faber

Well my favorite authors (sorry I can't choose just one) are:

J.K. Rowling: She is a genius I love the Harry Potter books :D I can talk all day about her books :D but I will stop here.

Phillipa Gregory: She is awesome I love her. She has written a lot of books about my favorite era, Tudor England :D and not to mention one of her books was turned into a movie.

Carolyn Meyer: She was the author that introduced me to Tudor England.

Kit Pearson: First of all, she is Canadian :D and she was the author to introduce me to WWII Fiction :D

Gordon Korman: I love his small books, they are perfect for those days where you want to read, but one that you can read quickly.

Last but not least: Joseph Delaney: The author of the Last Apprentice series (but it's a trilogy at the moment)

I looove Barbara Kingsolver. Her books are masterpieces of setting and descriptive language complete with little nuggets of wisdom. Her characters also always satisfy. They're complete, real, and seem to pop out of the page. Sometimes while reading her books (most popular being the Poisonwood Bible), I truly feel transported to another place.

Although, my favorite book isn't by any of these people. Go figure.

I just wanted to add a new favorite, Kurt Vonnegut :-)

Jacqueline Carey - the kushiel series

She can quicken my heart and slow my breathing.
I love the action, the politics, the heat and the idea of the religion.
I don't think there was anything I didn't like.

Honestly I'm not too sure because I haven't read that many books since my book craze didn't start until just a while ago. But so far I do like Cecelia Ahern and Meg Cabot.
