Oh, most definately Stephen King. I love the way he drags you into his world so easily.

Diana Wynne Jones. She is my hero (God rest her soul).

All of her books are colorful, full of adventure, and have this amazing ability to completely envelop the reader. I always feel warm and inspired after reading her work. She herself was a very very inspiring person.

This beautiful woman passed away last year (almost a year exactly). There are still a few of her books that I haven't read yet, but I'm taking my time... Once I've read all of them I know there's a possibility that I'll feel tremendously sad. It will be bitter sweet, that's for sure.

I've been reading William Faulkner's novels/short stories for the last month. Finished Light in August, then As I Lay Dying, then The Sound and the Fury, and just finished Absalom, Absalom! this weekend, and he is without a doubt my favorite writer now. I regret not reading these books sooner. All four of them are amazing.

I'm currently a huge fan of Stieg Larsson! His writing is spectacular, the style keeps you going for hours! It's a shame he was only able to put out the three books that he did. I'm a portion through the Girl who Played with Fire, and I'm still very impressed, as I was since page 1 of the first book.

Jody Picoult is also an author I love, due to her addicting use of words. She gives everyone something to connect to, and the way she proposes certain topics and ideas makes you think twice. Her books are great to discuss and experience, so if you have the time, give her writing a shot!

I think Gabriel Garcia Marquez will top my list for his great works like One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love at The Time of Cholera.
Next will be Salman Rushdie as I find his Midnight's Children too good.

My favorite author is Henry David Thereau. I love Civil Disobedience. My favorite quotes are as follows:

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe--"That government is best which governs not at all"; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which the will have.

Under a government which imprisons unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison.

I LOVE DANIELLE STEEL- she has great stories
