Don't get me wrong, I am not a Lord of The Rings "freak", said with respect.

But I truly do think that J.R.R. Tolkien is one of the best authors ever.
The descriptions he uses in his books are fantastic and it makes me feel as if I'm right there.

I think Paulo Coelho is a fantastic author!

The little life lessons he portrays in his books are profound, and most of them are things that we all know, but he just reinforces what we know and it makes you believe in that even more.

I'd have to go with James Jones.

Few people can make 1000+ page books seem short.

It changes but right now I'm reading everything I can find by Anne Lamott and Daniel Pinkwater. I also love John Irving and Pat Conroy - especially thier earlier work.

I try to not limit my books to authors. I've seen authors i liked write horrible books, and vice versa. But, some of my favorite books are written by:

Orson Scott Card
J.K. Rowling
Paul S. Kemp
Richard Lee Byers
Christopher Paolini
Stephanie Meyers

It's all fiction, but I think they're good. :)
