Has anyone read The Sword of Truth series? Do you feel they were unique to the fantasy genre? How far into the series have you gone?

Yes and yes. I can't remember exactly where I stopped reading though. I know for sure I read the first five books. I found them very unique. Everyone talks about George RR Martin and how his books aren't always black and white and how there are lots of unexpected twists: well, I feel like Goodkind is unique to the genre in that the "good" guys always struggle! Barely anything good happens to them. That's part of what keeps me interested because it's not predictable at all.
