Charlotte, Emily, and Ann Bronte. It would be interesting to see similarities/differences between them. Maybe meet with them but not know at first who was who and see if you could guess.

I don't drink, but I'd love to sit and have some tea with C.S. Lewis. His writing has significantly influenced my own writing.

I have to add Kathleen Woodiwiss to my list. She passed away in 2005 (I think) and when she died, she took the art of writing tasteful romances with her.

Jodi Picoult! I've read almost every single one of her books and most of them I loved. I want to know what makes her so amazing as to be able to write these incredibly intricate stories about such delicate and controversial topics. She is a fantastic writer and the concepts she discusses in her books can really create a dialogue.

The book House Rules really hit home for me because it revolves around a murder trial of an autistic boy and my sister is mildly autistic, and the chapters written from his point of view really helped me understand her more.

I can't even imagine the amount of research that must go into these books.

Okay, maybe lunch as somebody suggested because I also don't drink beer. That would be Marie Lu, a talented young author I'd like to talk to and know more about.

Dean Koontz seems like a really cool guy, and he can be kind of funny at times. John Saul seems pretty cool too.

One of my friends recommended that I read "Watchers" by Koontz. I don't think I've read anything by him and if I have, it's been a long time.

Stephen King. Hands down, it would be Stephen King. You can tell by his writing and how prolific he is, how he puts so much of his own history into his books, that he spends most of his time in the other world--the make believe world where stories are written. I would LOVE to hear him talk about the parts that he's edited OUT of his books. I would also like to ask him why he started dipping into the realm of fantasy. And tell him that there was never, nor will there ever be, a book like The Shining.

Beer and pizza with extra tomato sauce with Kim Harrison, beer with John Grisham and a shot of whiskey with King.

I had a dream about him one time. I dreamed that my mother, brother and I were in Delaware of all places and I saw Stephen King standing in the parking lot of a grocery store. He tried to get my brother to shake his hand and my brother wouldn't do it. But I, being the enamored fan, ran right up to him and said, "Oh, Stephen King! I've read all of your books and I love you" and I grabbed his hand only to be electrocuted by these massively long fingernails he had. LOL!
:laughing-rolling:

I would love to have a beer with Stephen King. I am afraid I would be so in awe of him that I would just drool and not come up with any words to say. I hope he would understand.

She did not buy him a beer because she was only 10, but my daughter met Brandon Mull at a book-signing and talk at the library two years ago. She loves his Fablehaven series and has read it twice already. He was extremely nice and answered all her questions and took a picture with her.

Jacqueline Winspear because picking her brain about the time between the two world wars would be fascinating; Laura Lippman because the career transition from reporter to novelist must've been a challenge; and Dave Barry because it's good to laugh a bit when you're drinking beer!

Maybe F. Scott Fitzgerald. He was a great writer; his prose approached poetry, and I'm fascinated by the Jazz Age.
