Stephenie Meyer vs. Suzanne Collins

Post by Courtney Whittamore »

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series was what sparked the phenomena that has now come to fruition in the young adult book and movie scene. Had Twilight not experienced the widespread success that it did, I do not feel that The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins would have been franchised the way that is has been and to the success it as reached. Now that the two are on an equal plane as cultural norms and household names, which do you find to be superior? May the odds be ever in your favor!

I loved the post apocalyptic tone to The Hunger Games. I just couldn't get into the Twilight Books at all. Although I'm awful glad my niece won't read this as she would completely disagree with me.

I much prefer Hunger Games to Twilight. It seems to go deeper into the world of dystopia than Twilight does into the world of vampires. I also like the movies better. Plus, Suzanne Collins was a favorite author of mine before Twilight came out, with her Gregor the Overlander series.
