F. Scott Fitzgerald, I think it's a shame that most of his work become so popular after his death.

I'd love to meet Albert Camus or William Faulkner (or Oscar Wilde...), but I don't think I'd want to actually bring them back from the dead. Some intense implications there... :?

I would have to go with Jane Austen as well. Her style was amazing. I loved her syntax. She has been a huge inspiration on my own work that I have done in the past. I would love to interview her and see how she came up with her stories and what inspired her to write. She has a true place in my bookworm heart.

Let's bring back Mary Shelley. We can call her Mankenstein.

Definately Edgar Allan Poe! He was a genius with a pen and I'd be interested in seeing what he thought of how famous his work became.

Michael Crichton. I read the Andromeda Strain when it was first published. It was a facinating book. I loved it as well as Prey, and Micro.

Franz Kafka... I'd like him to compose more. His multilayer works are priceless.

I would choose Jane Austen as well. I would have loved to have a cup of coffee with her and see what went on inside of her head. I would find it intriguing to see how her thought process was, and how she came up with her story lines. I would have like to have met Margaret Mitchell as well considering how much I love Gone With the Wind.

I would bring back Michael Chrichton because he wrote the most wonderful books. His story writing really expanded my reading interests and introduced me to other authors I would never have before considered.

I would bring back Jack Kerouac, because... hey, his life must have been full of freedom, gorgeous places and above all he lived without many thoughts, except that of writing.
I think that his ideas influenced an entire generation, and his novels continue to inspire people all over the world today. It's wonderful! Books like "On the Road", "The Dharma Bums" or "Big Sur" are unique in their genre.
Well, there are also authors like Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs (etc.), that were symbols for the Beat Generation, but, at least for me, nobody has reach the writing's intensity of Jack Kerouac!

So I would bring back him, and maybe I'll take him out for a wander :D

My choice would definitely be Stieg Larsson, the author of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I think his trilogy was absolutely brilliant. If you think you've read every spy thriller, think again. Elizabeth Salander is a fictional heroine you'll never forget.

Maybe Agatha Christie. Not only would I like to talk to her about her books, but also her 11-day disappearance in 1926.
