I loved Danielle Steele and Mary Higgins Clark. Both kept my entertained, questioning, wondering, and gave me a chance to "solve" the crime even if the ending was different. They helped me to problem-solve for myself.

This is a funny question for me, cause I just finished high school lol. High School over here runs for three years, I don't know about anywhere else. The first year was Cristopher Paolini, second year Derek Laundy and third year Isabella Allende as well as Derek Laundy

Diane Duane. She wrote the Young Wizards series, which I was obsessed with in middle school.

In high school, I love reading R.L. Stine. Every week I'd go to the library and check out one of his Goosebumps books.

In high school? I loved Piers Anthony's Xanth books. When I was eighteen, maybe just out of high school, I read Jane Eyre and The Thorn Birds, and a year later I read The Mists of Avalon. That was an amazing time in my life for reading. You know, I should reread on of those.

Mine was Hamlet. I had never read Shakespeare before. And I didn't understand it. Our regular English teacher was out for the day. The substitute teacher broke it down to me. By the end of class, I was hooked. I finished with a few days. I still have that book.

My favorite authors in high school were Dean Koonz, Anne Bishop, and L. J. Smith. I still love Anne Bishop and drop everything to read her latest book. I still enjoy L. J. Smith. Deen Koonz on the other hand has gone off the list. He is so hit or miss.

Anne McCaffrey. I devoured her books. Every single one. When I wrote her a fan letter back then, she sent me a response typed on a lovely postcard featuring the cover art for The White Dragon.

The Romanian postmodernist author Mircea Cartarescu. His imaginarium captured mine and we danced for years on the gray reality of a post-communist era.
