I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I haven't read them, either and I watched only the first movie. I may read the series someday.Amna reads wrote:I've never read the twilight series even though I loved the films! I'm reading them very soon

The Swedish movie was so good. I didn't see the American version. I wanted to read this book as well. Forgot all about it, but the film was excellent!Janiac02 wrote:Let Me In by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I enjoyed the movie, and have read good reviews about the novel. It is on my list of things to read...eventually.

I liked the American version, but I'm sure the Swedish version was better at sticking to the story line. I haven't seen that version.ALynnPowers wrote:The Swedish movie was so good. Total agreement! Christopher Moore is an awesome comedy writer who twists the whole vampire mythology into a modern-day universe full of dry and sarcastic wit. Not necessarily what I would recommend if you're looking for something along the lines of Anne Rice or even Stephanie Meyer, but damn good for a fun beach read.Pappy wrote:I recommend Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore and the sequel You Suck!: A Love Story. Both are very good books and what I consider a realistic depiction of what a normal person would do when faced with such a transformation.

I'm reading one now called "The Raven" by Sylvain Reynard. It's over 400 pages long (on a reader) and I'm almost half way through it and it hasn't come right out and said that he's a vampire but I know he is. He's a prince and everybody calls him that and he's centuries old. But the unique thing about him is he can withstand the daylight. He really hasn't done it thus far but the story is moving along pretty well and I'm sure I'll eventually find out what his real name is and a few other things. It's a vampire mystery with a twist of romance in it.
It's a pretty good book.
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I just finished it this morning and wow, what a read! A vampire prince and a disabled human woman mixed with mystery and intrigue. It was amazing. I haven't had a book captivate me like this one did in a long time.

Thanks for this recommendation! I'm going to add this to my TBR list! I've read Sylvain Reynard - Gabriel's Inferno books and they were really good. Didn't know she wrote paranormal, probably wouldn't have without your post.
