I actully just finished a book called Romeo & Juliet & Vampires by- Claudia Gabel. Easy to say it is a twist to Shakespeare's original, Romeo & Juliet. This made me giggle, but did not bore me to tears if you want a simple light read this is for you!
Good Reading,
isa

If you like mystery type with a vampire as the main character, you can try Fred Saberhagen's Dracula books, Seance for a vampire is my favorite of those. Sherlock Holmes gets in trouble on a case and Watson does a ritual and calls in an old friend of the family, Dracula. They're old and might be hard to find but I definitely recommend them.

"I, Vampire" is good too, very self introspective vampires, including Mozart! author: Michael Romkey

If you like romance type vampire books, you might try Christine Feehan's Carpathian novels, the "Dark" books. Or Sherrilyn Kenyon has the Dark-Hunter series that's about a type of vampire-like critter that is a hunter of others who prey on human souls. The dark-hunter novels have a lot of involvement from multiple pantheon's gods so that's kinda fun too.

And have you found Sierra Dean's Secret McQueen books? Those are good. Also Joleen Naylor's Amaranthine series, which I believe you can still get the first book free on kindle.

Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy series - Best YA vamp series I've ever read
Bella Forrest - Shade Of Vampire series - YA/mature teen
Kerrelyn Sparks - Love at Stake series - very funny
SC Stephens - Conversion series - real life quality
Lynsay Sands - Argeneau series - light, sometimes funny, great romance
Chloe Neill - Chicagoland Vampires series - very clean adult/YA for vampire stories - fantastic action, plots
JR Ward - Black Dagger Brotherhood series - you can't help but love the characters - one of my all time favorites
Lara Adrian - Midnight Breed series - similar to BDB by Ward, but just as good
Christine Feehan - Dark Carpathians series - different take on vampires, very good series to grow with
Katie MacAlister - Dark Ones series - corky, adventurous
Sherrilyn Kenyon - Dark Hunter series - emotionally charged, dark reads but so worth it
Jeaniene Frost - Night Huntress/Night Huntress World/Night Prince - delectable adventures - another favorite of mine

Oh, I almost forgot - Stephanie Meyer - Twilight series - love it or hate it, it makes my list! (And I love it!)
A book is a device to ignite the imagination.

I like Laurell K Hamilton's and also the ones by Lyndsay Sands (Argeneau series). Lyndsay puts a whole different twist to vampires and I love it!

Uh...if you already read Rice and Brian, I think that's about it. I tried to read other vampire authors but I didn't get into them. Good luck. If you find a good one tell me.

If you love vampires and the preternatural realm then the best series ever is the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. The first books is A Discovery of Witches. I received it for my birthday and I read it back to back 4 times before I could put it down. It is witty and well written with a huge amount of hidden depth (think iceberg).
