I could never pick just one. It seems like even children's literature should be broken into categories:

Picture Books:
Rosemary Wells and Beatrix Potter

Chapter Books:
Cressida Cowell

There are really so many more wonderful authors of children's literature. I love seeing all of the favorites here!

I was a huge fan of Roald Dahl when I was really little, because that's what my mom would read to me before bed. Once I started reading for myself, though, I basically inhaled Ann M. Martin's babysitter's club series. As I started to mature a bit past that, I found her book Here Today and that was a sort of transition for me between my childhood reading and my young adult reading, due to the darker, more serious subject matter in the novel. Martin's writing was a key part of my life while I was growing up.

George MacDonald. He wrote the Princess and the Goblin. I had my mother get the book for me after reading it from the library and read the book so many times, that I could literally quote it to you.

Gail Carson Levine was my favorite childhood author and Ella Enchanted was my favorite book. The movie didn't really impress me though.

I read childrens books from time to time. Well, middle school ageI think.

I am currently reading Micheal Scott's The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel). I really enjoy this book so far. It is a light read, and I think the world he created is great. I have a feeling the characters will evolve throughout the series. There is definitely more to come.

I also picked up a Cornelia Funke book called Inkheart. I heard great reviews.

Phillip pullman wrote His Dark materials. I LOVE those books.

I know I am an adult, but I love to read everything. Childrens, YA, and adult.
