Roald Dahl, and he was my favorite ever. "Fantastic Mr. Fox" made me really love reading. His books were creepy and original and brilliant and just perfect.

I loved the Lemony Snicket books. I actually enjoyed harry potter when i was a kid but I'd have to say that Dr. Seuss would be my favorite.

If we are talking about books for very young readers, then maybe Beatrix Potter... If we are talking about children literature for older readers, then I would say Enid Blyton and, for even older, I think, Louise May Alcott. I don't mention Lucy Maud Montgomery, because I don't consider her books children literature, I think they are for young adults and, at least if we are talking about Anne of Green Gables and its sequels, I think they're also for adults.

I love to read children's books even though I'm in my 20's :P They're just so cute so naturally I can't help myself! :P but currently my favorite author is Chris Colfer and his Land of Stories series. They are super fun to read and very creative Witt his characters :) I definitely recommend!

Judy Blume is an incredible children's author. Her books have made millions and have been translated into dozens of languages.

I loved the Goosebumps series a lot growing up. My favorite book when I was in grade school was Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher. I also loved Roald Dahls The Witches and James in the Giant Peach. I guess Roald Dahl was my favorite children's author.

I would have to go with C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia for chapter books, or "The Present for a Princess" for picture books. I grew up reading these over and over again as a kid, and I still love to go back and reread them whenever I have the time.

Dr. Seuss and Roald Dahl are pretty hard to beat. I also remember really liking Avi.

Probably Roald Dahl. His books never get old - and Matilda is probably the book that's had the greatest effect on me, ever.

I'm a huge Roald Dahl fan, and Kate DiCamillo and lately I have been really getting into the work of Graeme Base, who does gorgeous picture books!

R. L. Stine and Roald Dahl were always my favourites. It brought me so much joy when I found out that my niece is now interested in Roald Dahl as well and that I could buy them all to pass on to a new generation! I would have passed on my own copies, but they are falling apart from all the years of repeat readings!

When I was in grade school and junior high I pretty much only read books from the Harry Potter series or books by Sharon Creech.
