Jane Austen.. has to be Jane Austen. But it might be Dante Alighieri. I can't remember since I was so young when I read them the first time I am unsure anymore as to which came first.
I love LOVE. <3

Enid Blyton, I loved her stories about the faraway tree and in many respects she shaped my book reading and tv viewing habits as I grew and now even today.

As a child: R L Stine, I loved his Goosebumps series and still have them all...
As a tween: Darren Shan, I still own 28 of his books, 17 of which are signed!
Now: I don't really have an author that I have to buy, unless we can count Rick Riordan, or Marie Lu.

Shannon Hale! I read her book "Goose Girl" a couple years ago at the beginning of a really hard time in my life, and that book really saved me. Now I've read (almost--can't find a couple) her books and seen her movie, Austenland.

Absolutely agreed! :) I still have at least ten books of Enid Blyton!

Stephen King. I liked a lot of series books as a kid/teen, but I didn't read them all. Stephen King has mastered horror, and I love his style.

I have to confess I've read all the books Paulo Coelho has written. I fell in love with him through The Alchemist and the way his stories always a life lesson hidden and waiting to be learned.

I went through a Catherine Coulter phase a few years back. I couldn't get enough of her stuff.

As a teenage sci-fi fan, came across The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. The way he combined almost poetic writing with quite stunning ideas got me hooked... Back then in Eastern Europe we had no internet, and only managed to get some of his short story anthologies in translation, so it took some time until I got to the point of practically solving my increasing obsession with his work :)

I've read almost all of Stuart Macbride's books and I love his style of writing. There's no gray area in his books it's basically black and white. My other author that I'm starting to read most of is John Grisham's books. He has about 27 or 28 books and I've read about 5 of them so far.

The first author that I read everything by was Nicholas Sparks. Then I moved to Jodi Picoult, and those are the two that really started me binge reading every novel ever written by one author. Now if I find an author I like, I just read all the works, even all of James Patterson's works, which I am currently in the middle of.
