All of the Black Stallion books by Walter Farley. I read those books over and over again. I was also convinced I was going to be a jockey! The fact that I couldn't talk my parents into getting a horse and keeping it in the garage, was not going to stand in the way.

Brian Jacques. His writing is amazing. I absolutely love it. It was always so vivid and engrossing.

Eva Ibbotson - when I was a child I used to absolutely adore her books.

I always borrowed them from the library and only own a few of them myself, recently I've been trying to collect some of my old favourites.

The first author that I had to read everything by was Roald Dahl. I found out that several of the children's movies which I really enjoyed were based on his books and then I became obsessed. He's one of the few authors who actually makes me laugh out loud when I'm reading his work. My favorite books of his aren't his fictions so much as his autobiographies. He's had such a fascinating life, but to hear it in his words with his sense of humor makes me feel like I got to know him.

When I was young, my mom bought a box of old Nancy Drew Books. It was a complete set at the time. Some are 1940-1950 editions. I still have them. They remind me of my mom.

I wonder how many times this happens throughout one's life? I know that it has happened with multiple authors for me.

I had to read everything by Marguerite Henry. I loved horses when I was little and one day at the book store I found Misty of Chincoteague. About seven or eight years later I found out that Chincoteague was a real place and I was lucky enough to get to see the Pony Swim there with my Grandma. Henry's Misty series is a great read for any little girl.

When I was in high school a buddy and I had to read all the Bond books by Ian Fleming because it was so cool. At 17 I made a spy picture spoof of my own in 8mm home movie film and it was a big hit at school.

I had to read everything by Neal Shusterman from the very first page of Unwind. I've read virtually everything by him so far, and it's all been fantastic! His chilling way of incorporating real life horrific things into a book about the horrific future just made it even more realistic and frightening. Nothing's scarier than when you can identify parts of the "real world" in a series where the world seems to have gone mad.
