I met Jeff Shaara at the Gettysburg Battle Field where he does periodic author signings. Seemed like a nice person.

I met Wes Moore at a book signing just a few months ago and I also met Linda Przybyszewski. She attended our book club which was really interesting.

So, do the authors attend the online book club virtually, or is there a face-2-face component for members that live near one another? Of course I imagine it is all virtual for an online book club, but I can be a slow learner at times. :techie-reference:

This was an in person book club I did through my library. Not sure how the online ones do it. This is my first online book club

I have never met an author, but I have won a contest by getting chosen by one of them. Michael Buckley sent me a signed book insert. Also I had Marissa Meyer sign a book for me, and I now have it stashed away.

I met John R. Erickson the author of the Hank the Cowdog series at Baylor University. He was very nice and very approachable.

I believe I met one author in high school, but I can't remember at all who it was. I know he wrote a biography of sorts.

Jeffery Deaver. Took a half day off of work to drive all the way to Highlands Ranch in the Denver CO area so I could get his Bond Thriller Carte Blanche. Almost got to see him again two weeks ago but alas, I had tickets for Riverdance.

I was able to meet Colleen Hoover years ago. She is one of my favorite authors ever. It was disappointing. I drove a couple hours to go to her book signing and she seemed really distracted and not completely there. I still adore her books and I'll forever buy them, but it made me lose any desire to meet any other authors.

Diana Gabaldon
She made broken look beautiful
and strong look invincible.
She walked with the Universe
on her shoulders and made it
look like a pair of wings.

That's awesome! Have you read her books? I'm on the third Outlander novel. I'm trying to stay ahead of the show. Haha
