Is anyone familiar with the Scotish author, Iain Banks? Also goes by Iain M. Banks, which he usually uses for his sci-fi work.

I used to read his stuff all the time, but it seemed he stopped putting out books at the end of the 90s. I think the last two I read were: The Business [Iain Banks] and Inversions [Iain M. Banks].

If he has any new stuff, is it any good? Any recommendations?

I'm currently reading The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks. It's a shorter book. I found it on a '100 books to read before you die' list. I really am enjoying the style but the content is bringing me down.

I hear you - the Wasp Factory was actually the first book I ever read by him.
