Kelley Armstrong is the first author that I have read every book she had ever written. Her books are compelling, full of mystery, and entertaining. In every book she incorporates a deep seeded issue that people may have faced in their lives. She writes about paranormal creatures, but really her stories are so much more then that!

Beverly Cleary was my first as a child. Steinbeck was my first as an adult.

Oh I take mine back! When I was younger I read R.L. Stine's Goosebumps and Fear Street novels like it was my job. I could never get enough! I still enjoy his stories and I recently picked up his YA novels about vampires! I really enjoyed them as well!

I think mine might've been J.K. Rowling. Her popularity was at it's highest when I was in high school.

S.M. Stirling. I've read everything he wrote by himself, everything he co-authored, all his short stories, everything his co-authors wrote...

I was eleven years old when I read my first novel. Well, as I would later find out at age 22, being a wannabe Stephen King, that what I actually thought was my first novel all those years turned out to be a shorter work of fiction known as a novella. It was a novel. I don't know if ya'll read the Goosebumps books growing up, but I was so into it that I must've gone through 50 titles of. R.L. Stine's series before I turned to the real thing (big works like The LOTR Trilogy). Goosebumps is what ultimately turned me into a certified bibliophile. And now here I am.

Haha you are so right! They seemed so much longer though, didn't they? They were my first full series read, as well. I just couldn't get enough of the stories! Remember when some of them even scared you?

Haha I remember picking them up and being lost for hours in the world Stine created! That's what made me love books! I guess I owe him one huh?

The first author that I had to read everything by was Christopher Pike. It all started with the book Chain Letter in 6th grade. I was what was known then as a reluctant reader. More to the point I would not read. I would have my father read assignments to me and memorize the text and then when called upon in school I would recite nearly verbatum my reading. I got caught when I was holding the book upside down and still reciting from memory the passage I was to read outloud to the class. My new best friend didnt know I had issues with reading. Her favorite thing to do was curl up with a good book. I of course wanted to impress her and agreed that was my favorite thing to do too! We made plans to go to a book store. She insisted that I buy Chain Letter by Christopher Pike. She had just finished it and was anxious to know my opinion. Everyday for 6mo she asked me if I had finished the book yet. Finally I got fed up with telling her no and sat with the book and a dictionary and taught myself how to read. Reading for me caught like wildfire. I could not get enough after I got through the first book! I read every one of Christopher Pikes books and then moved on to L.J. Smith. I am forever greatful to my pushy 6th grade BFF and to Mr. Pikes books that had me fall in love with reading.

J.K Rowling, hands down. Think I have completed John Grisham as well.
