Scott wrote:I'm emailing out an Amazon Giveaway link for a free paperback later today to those who have voted for me. This giveaway will have 1 in 50 odds, which is really good for an Amazon Giveaway.

Don't worry, this is not replacing the bigger prize planned for Feb 15th. This is in addition to it.

The prize this time will be The Vanishing Chemist by Peter Albert. Both that book and Peter Albert's other book Runaway were reviewed and recommended by our own official OnlineBookClub.org Review Team. :)

To be clear, with Amazon Giveaways, I will have prepaid for the prize, shipping and taxes. It is completely free to play and completely free to the winner.

I think giving away some books that have been officially reviewed by the OnlineBookClub.org review team is a great way to appreciate the generous work of the review team, help the authors like Peter Albert who make the review team possible and support this website, and say thank you to those who are encouraging me to write a story. Three birds, one stone, right?

I've been webmaster of OnlineBookClub.org for 10 years. I've never written a story. I really need the encouragement to give it a try. I've been so floored by the feedback for the short nonfiction books I wrote this year. I want to know if my friends think it is a good idea to make this debut.
Cool! Thank you. I have already voted for you. 8)

Last time the Giveaway took place it was far too late for me (it was night time here, and I only saw it after it was over). It doesn't matter this time, as I have read the book. 8)

I don't have enough posts to vote. :(
If I could vote I would be like the poor college student and vote for gift cards (amazon) for books.

I would also like to say Scott Hughes that you absolutely should write a fiction book. I have a million ideas and I personally have no ambition to write a book so please let me know if you need some ideas. I will happily share.

I see this giveaway (for free paperback) is only opened to USA residents, but thank you all the same. :tiphat:

@destrygraves The restriction on new members being able to vote has now been lifted, so you can vote. :)

@gali Unfortunately, Amazon Giveaways are only open to residents of the USA. If I can find a trusted way to do international giveaways I'll do it that way. Otherwise, I'll come up with a secondary giveaway for international members.

Scott, I accidentally entered the book contest by clicking on the link to find out what book was being offered. Please withdraw my name if you can. Then the odds for the other members will be higher.

Extra Prize For All ~ If I reach my goal of 5,000 votes, I will also hand out balloons in downtown wearing a costume (not my idea). This will be on video for all of your viewing pleasure. :) I'm accepting nominations for what the costume shall be. Once I have all the costume nominations, I'll make a vote with them.

@bookowlie Unless you clicked the box, I don't think it should have affected it. However, Amazon randomly selects the giveaways according to the certain odds selected for that giveaway. So each person has a 1 in 50 chance of winning (for this giveaway) and is told instantly whether they are a winner or not.
