New Publishing Contest Question regarding Book Cover

Post by pauljeday »

Hi all,
I recently submitted the blurb for my book in the Publishing Contest on Online Book Club. My Entry is "Mirrorball". My question is this: Would anyone object to me putting up a book cover as my Avatar to showcase what my book proposal will look like? I tried to find another way to address this but only wound up in circles. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Paul G Day

You shouldn't put it on as it is inappropriate. Please note that self-promoting is against our Anti-Spam Rules. Good luck with your book!

No worries. I did notice someone else has their book cover as their profile so I did as well, but then I took it off right away and put my normal profile pic up. Thanks for the advice. :)

I've seen some users use book covers as their avatar but they've never been their own book :eusa-think:

There is currently one other entry with a book cover the same as the title of the book in their entry. I removed mine and so should they. We should all be allowed to use our cover or no one should. Please address this issue and clarify Admin. Thanks. ;)

If that is the case than please send a link to the users profile so it can be dealt with :)

You are absolutely right. Next time you can report this, or any other matter, by pressing the button (!) above the post.

The avatar displayed on the publishing contest leaderboard page so there was no report button in this particular case.
