I can't edit PM's; I'm getting an error message.

So that we can provide faster and better support, this forum (the "Public Suggestion Box") has been retired. Instead, please send any suggestions you have to us using the official website contact form.

This allows us to streamline our support system so that we can get to your message much faster. Instead of our support staff having to check three different places (support forum, suggestion box, and contact form messages), they know can respond to all message through one method, with that one method being the official website contact form.

I can't edit PM's; I'm getting an error message.

Post by zeldas_lullaby »

I have never been able to edit a PM I sent. I always have to delete the PM and start over. I get the following message every time:
General Error

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Out of range value for column 'forum_id' at row 1 [1264]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
I don't understand SQL? I am able to edit my posts without issue.

Hey, Meg! Users aren't permitted to edit their messages at all. I would attempt to explain what the various things mean, but I honestly have no idea; it is, as Shakespeare would say, Greek to me. But maybe Scott can explain and perhaps make messages editable? :)

You can't either, can you? :eusa-think:

Whoops ... sorry. I accidentally edited your message. Do you want me to change it back?

Hi, Ryan! How're you?

I have received edited messages from Russell too. (Maybe it's only Russell who is allowed to edit...) :eusa-think:

There's an "edit" button right there, next to a button for deleting, reporting, and quoting.

HA HA HA! Hey, quick, post after me before I edit this... :o

He is a wizard, but apparently not one of those French wizards.

What did we determine... that he's Canadian? :P

No big deal about the "edit" issue; I just need something to fixate on tonight. In the meantime, I'll just keep deleting and resending, or... heavens!... trying to get the message right the first time!

Yeah, they were the other wizarding school from book 4, correct? One of them, anyways. And you know what? I bet Russell is a Durmstrang.

I'm a Hufflepuff. (Clearly I'm having low self-esteem tonight.) HA HA HA HA.

If some members are able to edit their messages and others aren't, then I suppose being able to edit is the default and there is a fault somewhere. Scott will no doubt fix it :)

Hey ... Hufflepuffs are perfectly fine. You could be in Slytherin!

Yeah, I guess Scott will fix it...

HA HA... Slytherin? Hopefully, no matter how messed up in the head I ever get, I'll never cross over to the dark side!

Not Slytherin, eh? Are you sure? You could be great, you know. No? Well, if you're sure ... better be ... Gryffindor!

I'd totally be a stuck-up Ravenclaw 8)

HA HA HA--great line, that! OK, well, Gryffindor is better than Hufflepuff.
