Bookshelves query, sorry to be so stupid

Post by debbiebee »

I apologise heartily for being so stupid and know there's probably something incredibly simple I've not done  but I really wanted to join the 'Bookshelves' forum and filled in my current and recent reading matter, but by my username it still says 0 books read. What have I done wrong?

Too add books to your shelves, you have to enter books manually or click existing books.

To do so, please visit this page:

At least I've edited to eradicate heavy finger syndrome. I thought I had done as you suggest, Gali, and it didn't seem to work. Oh well, my book preferences aren't of much interest. Thanks, anyway.

When I clicked on your Bookshelves, I see the books you added are there. Don't give up on that great feature. :)

@gali I think @debbiebee means the number in the mini-profile on the side of her posts in the forum.

I had previously decided to only update that information once a day, when the rankings are updated. I have updated it so that now whenever one adds a book to their shelves, the count on the forum profile should be instantly updated.

Oh, I see. I think it is better the way you updated it now. :)

Rereading what I wrote in my last post I realize that I used the word update way too many times, but I am glad you understood. :)

Indeed, I do think it is better this way. So thank you very much to debbiebee for the suggestion.

Is there a faster way to add books to my bookshelf other than one at a time? I have hundreds of books on my kindle fire I have read.

Are you able to export them into a text or CSV file?
