Squares to the left of posts?

So that we can provide faster and better support, this forum (the "Public Suggestion Box") has been retired. Instead, please send any suggestions you have to us using the official website contact form.

This allows us to streamline our support system so that we can get to your message much faster. Instead of our support staff having to check three different places (support forum, suggestion box, and contact form messages), they know can respond to all message through one method, with that one method being the official website contact form.

Re: Squares to the left of posts?

Post by Gravy »

It's not new, but not a lot of threads have them. They're just optional icons when opening a new thread :tiphat:

Though I'm not sure they're available for all forums :eusa-think:

I'm not really technologically inclined (and I'm sure it's been obvious in some of my posts), so I've just been guessing about the boxes without really knowing for sure. :D
Haha I'm in the same boat as you, I've always wondered about them and now the mystery is solved thankfully. :)

I wish I had found this thread a couple of months. Very helpful, especially being able to tell which threads you've posted in, as some are very similar.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

Another cool tip: if you click on the tiny square (located next to the title of threads with new posts), it will take you to the last post you viewed in that thread :)

Just don't ask how long I'd been here before I found that out

So all of my posts are grey because I am a new member, right. What does a star mean inside a box and two boxes are on top of each other. And what is a sticky topic?

A star means you have posted to that thread at least once before. And you are correct about the two boxes on top of each other. :)

When topics are grey it's because you've viewed/posted to them, and nobody has posted after you. Two boxes on top of one another means it's a sticky topic (sticky topics stay at the top their forum), and two boxes beside each other means it's a global announcement.
And the stars indicate that you posted to the topic at some point :tiphat:

I was kind of wondering too what those squares are for. Now, I got it! Thank you very much for explaining.
