On the two occasions out of seventeen when I had problems downloading a book, the matter was taken care of, but it did take its time to get resolved.gali wrote:That is wrong. I have downloaded many free books for review without any problem. Only once I had a problem to download a book and Scott took care of it real quick. If you have complains, please pm Scott about it.WriterBLAlley wrote:From my experience, even if you see books to review you can't actually download them, but when you report that you get ignored, and the author isn't informed until a month later.
This site is VERY poorly run.

This is what the reviewer posted:
"I sent an error report because I couldn't download the book even though it said I did. I'm sure the book was great but they didn't get back to me in time. I'm really sorry and wish I could have read it. Thank you for your time. I don't hate it. I couldn't even start reading it."
He added this to my review request page, yet never actually contacted me about it. No attempt to fix the download, no attempt to get another person to review it, no response from my multiple attempts to contact him. I don't think 'Scott' has any interest in running this service.

Well, I doubt it's anything sinister; I think this is a common management issue that happens when a lot of work load comes in suddenly and just one person has to put out all the fires. The only solution I can see to a problem with punctuality is to delegate work to other people when possible.WriterBLAlley wrote:More reviewers than books? It took a month for me to find out the reviewer had a problem downloading my book and never read it, and since then there has been no activity, so my book has clearly been abandoned. I can't even get him to delete the file and close my account. There is definitely something wrong with this site. I don't know if he's incompetent, or using it to steal authors' works, but something isn't right when he actually posts the reviewers complaint and still doesn't act.

Anyway--the system that has been designed works most of the time, so it's unfortunate that your first experience with uploading a book involved a technical error and ended up being negative.
Was your book called Arbor Day? I think I remember seeing it twice on the review system, which usually happens when one person doesn't finish a review, so another person can review it. In any case, it isn't there now, so it may have been deleted from the system, as you requested.

Certainly not my intention, but your matter is being addressed in it's own topic: http://forums.onlinebookclub.org/viewto ... =3&t=19237WriterBLAlley wrote:Im sure glad he singled me out to screw over
