Anything Easy on the eyes?

Post by alimsj827 »

So, I would love to get myself some sort of e-reader. I had like the 1st generation of kindle, loved it, but now I can't find it. I've got pretty sensitive eyes which rudely inhibits my reading sometimes. I sometimes use the books app on my phone, but it really strains my eyes. Does anyone have this problem/ a potential solution? I hate getting my books all wrinkled from my purse and would love to maybe get another kindle? What are your opinions??

I have a Galaxy S4 tablet. I wanted something that didn't limit my use as I also surf the net and watch movies and TV and use it as a music player. It offers a slot for a SD card to expand the memory. I like the Google play app but I also downloaded the free Kindle app. I can use both .mobile and .epub files or PDF if needed.

Thanks for the input! I'll look into it. It would be nice to have something that's not limiting (Although it's not a must for me).

I have a Nook. Screens usually hurt my eyes too, but I turn the brightness way down on mine and it doesn't bother me anymore. I know there are some kindles that are supposed to be easy on the eyes.

I've been looking into some of the kindles. I turn the brightness down a lot like on my phone and computer, but it drains the battery like crazy. Thanks!

I love my Kindle PaperWhite-- I honestly feel it comes as close to actual paper as a digital tool can be. I do keep the brightness down fairly low, but I've never had any issues with eye strain using it. I bought it in 2014 though, so there may even be newer and better versions out now-- this is the description on mine: Kindle Paperwhite, 6" High Resolution Display with Next-Gen Built-in Light, Wi-Fi

Maybe try turning down the brightness slightly as I find that helps personally. Screens can be way too bright when turned up all the way when it comes to reading since you're going to be staring at it for so long.

Using blue light glasses or putting the phone in an eye care mode helps.
