Yes always if the first 2 chapters don't leave me wanting more I don't buy it.

Yes, I feel the free sample is a teaser needed to jumpstart a good novel.

I did once but found it rather annoying to have another file taking up space on my kindle. I didn't bother after that.

Yes, I certainly do. I like to know what I am getting myself into and especially if its an author I am not familiar with. If the sample reading just drags on I won't buy it.

I never do! If I end up liking it and buy the book I feel like I get less for my money because I've already read the first chapter.

Yes, I like to be able to see the quality of the writing and plot before I buy the book. Although that does not really matter if I have already read books in the series...

You are not alone! I am at my library at least once a week. I only purchas books I have read before and know I will read again. :)

I do find the e-book samples to be useful if I am getting an electronic book from the library and there are no reviews for the book.

Absolutely! If I can't get through the sample, I know I will hate the book. No reason to waste money on it if I knew I'd hate it!

I do this all the time with authors that I have not read yet. Its the same as reading the first five pages when I am buying it from a bookstore or borrowing from a library.

If it's an author I've never read before then I will get a sample to see if I like their writing style before I buy the book. If I've already read another book by the author I usually won't bother.

Yes I often get the sample and then can decide if I want to purchase the book. It either grabs my attention or not from the first few pages.

I download samples faster than I can read them all, but I'm glad I do. There are some samples that are so painful to read that I'm grateful I tried the sample instead of forking up money for a terrible book.

I do too! I do the same when I'm at a bookstore. I need to read a couple pages to sample the book before I commit to the purchase.

I love the feel of a book in my hands and the excitement of opening it and reading the reviews and teases. A book at home and my Nook for travel or waiting for an appointment. I can read many samples while waiting.
