Kindle Voyage - new reader

Post by SparklingOne »

Just saw the new Kindle Voyage reader on Amazon a moment ago. Having just upgraded from my Kindle Touch to the Kindle Paperwhite this year I decided not to purchase it right away. I am leaving this post in hope...That someone will tell us what makes this model special when they begin fulfilling the orders for them.

I know...the price does seem high. I think the next Kindle I'd buy will have the color e-ink display. Lately I've decided that getting each new gadget isn't terribly necessary for me anymore. You never know though someone may post something about Voyage which would make me buy it the next day. I consoled myself with a new cover for my Paperwhite in the meantime. :-)

The Kindle Voyage is expensive, but I like it. It has a slightly better display than the Paperwhite. The text is more crisp and clear. It also has page turning buttons.

I bought my Kindle Voyage at Best Buy for $199. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but definitely worth it.

I bought one finally as a personal Christmas gift at the beginning of 2016. I would definitely say it's a step up from the Paperwhite (which I loved too). It's like Amazon took everything I loved from the Paperwhite, and the upped the ante with the page turn buttons on both sides of the device. It's very nice in winter to be able to leave my gloves on and turn the pages. Ditto with reading in bed. It took some getting used to locating the buttons in the dark at first, but after 10 months use I know where to push based on where the device is resting in my hand. I have actually doubled the amount of books I've read this year. Which is good because I may need a 12 step program to control these one click book purchases lol.

I've given up on owning a kindle. I just use the kindle app on my phone or ipod.

I tried reading from the app on my phone, didn't find the screen big enough, too much page flipping. So I only use that for grocery line reading only. But I'm a daily reader so the Voyage was an excellent investment. I hear the books the sell for the ipad are cheaper is that true?
