Kindle for PC

Post by Erich_gray »

Kindle is new to me so I am not completly aware of its layout. I have been reading The Horn King series by Brae Wyckoff and the first book had page numbers at the bottom of the screen. But the second book does not. It only gives me location and percentage done.

Is this common?

Thank you,

Erich

I think you will find it's still there - just "hover" (would that be the right word?) the mouse/touchpad over the line & the page no will appear. It does for me anyway & it's the same on my ipad.

Hello Fran. That didnt work. I know when I first downloaded the book the page numbers were there, but they are not coming up at all now. I dont know what happened. They show up in all the other books in my library but this one they seem to have disappeared. Ugh!!

Thanks anyway. I was hoping your explantion would have fixed it.

Maybe the second book lacks pages numbers. Not all ebooks have numbers.

Is it a set of books or separate books? If it is a separate book, try to reup the ebook to your Kindle again. Maybe the numbers will appear. Otherwise, it may not had numbers on it in the first place.

This is one way in which ebooks wind up not as good as the physical book as this does seem to happen a bit with them.

Many e-books do not contain page numbers, so this is very likely the case. This is the only thing about my Kindle that I dislike--the percentage is nice, I guess, but I would prefer to know what page I'm on! I can't help but think that this must be frustrating for college students trying to properly cite quotations!

Does anyone know where I can get Kindle for my old pc? It runs with Windows XP. I only have 1 ram memory so please give me something that is gentle with my old comrade in battle.

It maybe just a glitch. Delete the book and get it again, maybe it will get fixed. If it doesn't then there were no numbers in the first place

Yeah, I just experienced that for myself. Not having page numbers on Kindle PC is really aggravating. If anyone develops a solution, I'd love an update.

Kindle for Pc has been the best companion. You get to read a lot of books in a good layout. The book display overly depends on its production. Kindle will include everything that the book entails, including page numbers. Keep using the application, and you'll eventually familiarize.

Kindle cloud reader is doing justice but still, I expect kindle to come up with desktop software which could offer more benefits and facilities in better managing the book and the reading process.

It may be because there are some ebooks that are not properly designed for kindle. In that case some of the information are being misrepresented.
