Missing words?

Post by Alanna636 »

Does anyone else notice that with some e-books it seems like words might be missing randomly throughout the book?

I'm not sure about missing words, but I do like to complain about the paragraphing and spacing sometimes.

Sometimes, it's true there are a few missing words or sometimes even sentences. I hate that as I worry that I missed something significant.

Spacing aggravates me too!

If I really like the book I will find it in print format and buy it to read it again just to be sure I get everything possible.

I always feel guilty when I get frustrated when reading a Project Gutenburg book, but some of them are absolutely unreadable. The scan just didn't work. Actually does anyone know if there is someone I should contact or alert when I see a book like that?

I am not sure that I have noticed any missing words, but there are some spacing problems sometimes. The spacing issues annoy me, but I can deal with it because I have come to love my e-books.

I don't know about missing words, but I find bad grammar and spelling all the time.

About Missing Words.. I too mind that in E books, also the grammer... If the book is interesting enough your mind fills in the words, (after a tiny annoyance ) and you keep right on reading!

I have noticed grammar, punctuation, and spacing errors. I have not noticed words too but put that may be because I fill in what I think should be there.

Like everyone else I've mainly noticed the spacing errors.
I did once get an ebook that was missing the letter O throughout the entire book...that was pretty bizarre. But never missing words.

I have noticed that too. Added to the spacing errors.
Perhaps the book was most suited for a specific reader and when opening it with another reader these problems occur.
Well, that's my theory.

I have noticed a few missing words but usually it's a missing letter. Or a word is repeated. It bugs me but thankfully it doesn't happen too often.

Yes, I roll my eyes every time that I come upon a typo in a published book. I'm sure it makes me a very mean, unappreciative person, but I feel like a book should be edited several times before publishing. If people would take the time to do that, we wouldn't have a problem with missing, duplicated, or misspelled words.
