In my personal opinion Calibre is the best converter to use because not only is it a converter, it also stores all of the books that you put in it.

I love Calibre. I find it easier to transfer books to my Kindle vs. mailing them. It's also good for library organization and to SEE in one place easily what's on it and if there are any repeats.

I've recently started using Calibre and so far most of the time I can convert files okay. There are some things I haven't been able to sort out though and the support has just sent me to the manual for fixes so this is slow and ongoing.

I use Zamzar. It only stores files if you have a membership which I don't, but it converts to pdf and sends the link to my inbox, which is all I want out of it.

I used to use it, but it's rare I don't have a device that can open a particular format so haven't used it lately. I found it a bit cumbersome for organizing, but it was awesome for converting.

I use Caliber for nearly everything E-Book. Conversion, organization, minor editing, straight to Caliber.
It does everything I need it to do.

I've used a calibre for a few years now. I've never had an issue with it, I wish it was a little more user friendly (or polished at least) but considering what it does, it's a pretty handy program to have around. I used to keep the portable version on a flash drive with me so wherever I was I could just download/convert the books I wanted onto it and transfer them to my e-reader later when I got back home. If you have any friends who have an extensive e-book collection too, it's good to have a converter that you can use to convert the files into ones your e-reader can read if you want to expand your virtual library.

I love caliber I use it to put the covers right, to convert to my favorite readers, to put the descriptions right, to organize the series. I think Caliber is the most expansive library to keep your ebooks =3
