Both have advantages but Kobo has a built-in .epub support. Kindle on the other hand, helps you reach the Amazon content easily. The design is an important fact. If you like the look of the Kobo, choose that or vice versa. I would choose Kobo but I chose Nook :)

I thought the Kobo came in epub format. The online book review comes in that format if you have the check box clicked for your preferences.

Any who, I like the kindle.

I love my kobo! Although I have an older one, it is still great. the newer ones look fab, although a lot like a tablet... I do all my book reviews with my kobo and that definitely works. On Kobos you can read epub, pdf and possibly others which I'm not aware of. Anyway, kobo's are great! highly recommended!

Honestly, as much as I love my kobo, I might just have to say kindle. Mostly for the easy formatting issue that kobo seems to have, and also for all the free e-books you can get on amazon. I love those things. I wish it worked with a kobo. Kindle's are also significantly cheaper.

I got the kindle paper white and absolutely love it!! I've tried reading on my iPad, but you basically have to read in the dark due to screen glare. With the kindle paper white, I can read outside while the sun is shining and not have to hide the kindle under a blanket. I also really love that it so light and doesn't cramp my hand holding onto it.

Both there are some books you can only get on the kobo and others you can only get on the kindle.

I've got a Kobo Glo and love it! And with Calibre (free software, sorry I can't post links yet) I managed to turn Amazon ebooks into epubs, too. Bit of a workaround but totally possible :)
The only thing I don't really like on Kobo is reading pdfs which always feels a bit clunky. Not sure if other ereader do a better job with those.

I have a Kobo and I thought I would not like it because I was a traditional paper book reader but I love it
